Why can't I renew this item?

Different materials have different loan "rules". DVDs are never renewable. New Release materials are never renewable. If any item that you currently have checked out has a hold placed on it by a different patron, it cannot be renewed. Items that have been renewed the maximum times allowed cannot be renewed. Patrons with unpaid fines or fees or lengthy overdues cannot renew items currently checked out on their account.
