Where can I get assistance with a disability?

Answer

The WVU Center for Excellence in Disabilities (CED) has a variety of program offerings to help individuals with disabilities be as independent as possible in their own communities. Most programs work with individuals outside of the medical setting to help ensure that they are able to participate fully in their lives. Programs often work together to provide coordinated services to individuals and families.

One of their services is a Disability Resource Library. They provide educational information and resource materials to individuals with disabilities, family members and practitioners. The library contains over 5,000 resources including books, DVDs, assistive technology, demonstration kits and medical models available to borrow.

If you have a patron who is seeking specific disability related resources, they can be referred to the CED. They are located in Morgantown and Big Chimney. Here is a link for more information: https://cedwvu.org/about-ced/services/
